I realize Mr. Lundine is just being a good Democrat by writing this letter. But he should check the "facts" he is touting. Johnson's numbers are distortions of the facts or outright lies.

As Mr. Edwards pointed out in his letter, Johnson either doesn't understand the data or is intentionally misrepresenting it. Either way, it's not a quality you want in a county executive.

As far as his letter goes, Mr. Edwards' record has been under constant attack by Johnson and he has every right to set the record straight.

wait. Isn't Lundine the reason Jamestown is in such a mess with high taxes? He is the one that gave police such lavish benefits, that Jamestown can not afford ...and city is now looking to county to have Sheriff take over. Why listen to this guy?

George, you are exactly right. Mr. Lundine you really should check the facts before you start touting all of Mr. Johnson's accomplishments as a "businessman." His adult homes he bought were already in poor condition. However, he definitely did not turn them around and had to sell the one on Route 20 outside Fredonia because he couldn't turn it around and was losing money...how good do you think he will do at turning the County Home into a profitable business, and this is a much higher level of care facility than his homes? Based on his track record do you really think he can be successful turning the home around and reducing our unemployment rate? My answer is absolutely not!

This is the same Stan who left Jamestown a mess and then went to serve with former Gov. Mario Cuomo to destroy the State.

OK Stan. Here are the facts as I see them. The 7000 job loss number does not compute. Census reports show that from 2000 to 2007(recession) Chautauqua County lost 894 jobs. Our Governor was quoted in the Dunkirk Observer April 15, 2013 that NYS was one of only 7 states to recover all the jobs lost in the recession. Our county unemployment rates from 2007 until today have been about the same as the NYS rate and better than the national average. Either Ron Johnson is lying or Cuomo is lying.

Yes, this is the same Lundine that certainly aided in created the highest-in-the-union taxed state and I CERTAINLY don't think the reduction of the unemployment rate was a reflection of what HE and CUOMO did...I think it was due more to us having the best US President in Reagan! Nice try Stan.

Johnson's plan is to make the County Home profitable, then sell it. If he is successful and we get $25M instead of $16.5M in 4 years, does that offset the $10M in losses we will absorb in that time frame. Sell the home now and let it thrive.

Oh and by the way...I personally know Johnson and know that he is a nice guy and served good as a town justice. However, that does not qualify him at all to be a county executive especially since he has stated that he intends on keeping the county home. Also here is a news flash to all the hard-core libs. The Legislature will likely be even more Republican after the elections, which will result in a super, super majority vote in favor of selling the home.

Mr. Lundine needs to check his facts regarding Ron Johnson and how he turned around 2 Assisted Livings in The North End Of The County. I have personal knowlege about the deplorable conditions in both of his homes. I didn't know the one in Fredonia was sold. It was a motel converted into an Assisted Living. Conditions were deplorable, the care was poor and no one should have had to live like that. His other Home in The Forestville area is again one of most poorly run Homes in Chautauqua County. It is not in very pleasant surroundings and has many citations made against it by The Health Department. There isn't any way that Ron Johnson can turn around operations at The County Home NOR DOES HE HAVE THE ABILITY TO BE COUNTY EXECUTIVE!

Oh Stan....... One of the chief architects of the great giveaways to the City unions in years past. You should really not have written the letter. You have helped destroy property ownership in this City and set Jamestown on a path of decay from which it will never recover. You were a terrible public servant and anyone you defend is tarnished by your poor character as a so-called leader. Johnson was in enough trouble before you popped your head out of the ground. Speaking of Johnson.... I'm going to start calling him Eggo....for his waffling on the County Home. 1st he says he doesn't believe the numbers, then in a debate he says the sale should be a business decision. Now he says he wants to keep it and spend YOUR TAX DOLLARS to keep it running. Go home Ron John. And take that liar Cornell with you. Poor delusional Stan....

Ironic isn't it that Mr Lundine lives in Ashville, must be because the tax rate is lower there then Jamestown. He raises the taxes and benefits there and then moves out of the city. Thanks Stan!

JOHNSON’S ADULT HOME HAS A HIGH NUMBER

OF HEALTH VIOLATIONS

Although County Executive candidate Ron Johnson has trumpeted his experience in operating adult care facilities, official New York State Health Department records show that his facility has the worst compliance record of any adult home facility in Chautauqua County.

Johnson’s Adult Home, owned and operated by Johnson, had more health violations since January 2012 than any other adult care facility in Chautauqua County, according to reports from the State Health Department.

Johnson’s Adult Home was cited for violating requirements related to administration, resident protections, resident rights, resident services, food service, environmental standards, records and reports, and admission and retention standards.

Since January 2012, Johnson’s Adult Home has been cited 20 times for violating the rules and regulations of the State Health Department. This is the highest number of violations for any adult care facility in Chautauqua, and is 20% higher than the next worst facility.

The number of violations since January 2012 for the 13 adult care facilities in Chautauqua County averaged about 4.38 violations. Johnson’s Adult Homes had 450% more violations than the average adult home facility.

Two Chautauqua County adult care facilities—The Women’s Christian Association Home and Orchard Grove Residences—had no reported violations. Six other adult care facilities had only one reported violation: Bergqusit Adult Home, Frewsberg Rest Home for Adults, Hultquist Place, Memory Garden, St. Vincents Home for the Aged, and Tanglewood Manor.

Even though Johnson’s Adult Homes had the highest number of reported violations of any facility in Chautauqua County, it also had the fewest number of residents. Both Johnson’s Adult Home and Southern Tier Meadows had only 24 beds. Southern Tier Meadows, however, had only 3 reported violations compared to 20 violations for Johnson’s Adult Home.

The largest adult home facility in Chautauqua County is Tanglewood Manor with 158 beds. Tanglewood Manor had only 1 violation since January 2012.

A list of all the adult care facilities in Chautauqua County, the number of beds at each facility, and the number of State Health Department violations since January 2012, is fully available in the attachment. The data is publicly available on the New York State Department of Health website at ***********health.ny.gov/facilities/adult_care/reports.htm.

Thank you for referencing that information Harold. I went to the health department website to see for myself and I was shocked at how many violations his homes have. Ole Ron John keeps touting that he's a businessman and that's his advantage. It appears that he's not a very good one from the way his homes are graded. Sorry Ron John, you've been exposed. PLEASE RELAY THIS INFORMATION TO ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO IS VOTING. KEEP JOHNSON OUT OF COUNTY GOVERNMENT!

Here is a thought, wonder why someone would want to pay several million dollars for the county home if they knew they were going to loose money? could it be that if the place was run correctly it would make money? Sure makes you wonder what the problem is.

ONE CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SOMEONE WILL MAKE THIS INFORMATION PUBLIC, REGARDING THE CITATIONS GIVEN TO THE JOHNSON HOMES BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. MR. JOHNSON FALLS RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE MANY UNTRUTHS OF THIS ELECTION. MR. WHITNEY WENT HOUSE TO HOUSE TO GET HIS PETITION SIGNED TO RUN FOR RE ELECTION. HE WAS BRAGGING ABOUT HOW MR. JOHNSON HAS SO MUCH EXPERIENCE RUNNING HIS HOMES THAT HE HAS A PLAN TO SAVE THE COUNTY HOME. MR. WHITNEY AGAIN SHOWS THE PEOPLE IN HIS DISTRICT THAT HE IS NOT KNOWLEDGABLE CONCERNING ANYTHING THAT HE VOTES ON IN THE lEGISLATURE. I HOPE THAT THE VOTERS IN THIS COUNTY DO NOT VOTE FOR JOHNSON, CORNELL OR WHITNEY BECAUSE OF THEIR DECEITFULNESS DURING THIS CAMPAIGN.

So Bobbojr..... According to your message we should not worry about keeping companies here and having workers ready to take the jobs that will be open from retirements. Good idea, moron! Companies folding or leaving has been an epidemic in this area for decades. Simpletons like you know only that we need more jobs but don't have the mental ability to think about how jobs are created and sustained. If there were an IQ test to determine the right to vote, you would be staying home on Nov. 5th
