Exactly Where Does Cornell Stand?

October 26, 2013

To The Reader’s Forum: It seems to me Legislator Lori Cornell, who was once vocal about not wanting to sell the County Home, has become silent on the issue since she decided to run for County Cle....

"Exactly Where Does Cornell Stand"?

On top of the $3,300 dollars the CSEA Union greased her palms with. Dirty politics young lady. We need more honest ballplayers on the field, not the same old politico nonsense we have been dealing with for years. Time for a change! Hopefully after this election a clear message will be sent to you never to search out an elected position in this county again.

Or as Judge Judy says, beauty fades, dumb is forever. If that's all it takes to run for the top spot, I'm a mother of 3, what does that qualify me for? I'll start my campaign tomorrow.

Got a postcard in the mail today. On the front was a picture of her with her husband and four boys. She's running on it's not easy being the mother of four. We'll u should have thought about that several years ago. We all raise our children and don't complain about it. It's what we do. People who must always brag about what a great parent they are have something to hide. We all raised kids. That's not a job. It's our lives. One thing I can say for her is she's hot. Sorry Lori not going to cut it this time. Beauty fades with age. For some of you

In today's political profile section, Lori Cornell uses her children as part of her resume; citing her ability to bear four children in five years as an accomplishment along with working. I'm sorry, but women do that every day, and most do not make their home life a part of their "job application". While it is indeed admirable juggling family and career, or in her case, political aspirations, women do this every day. This does not in any way make her exceptional. What would make her at least acceptable would be a legitimate career, a family, a political campaign, and making it to every commitment on time. Then she would be a viable candidate. As of now, she is embarrassing to women who manage to get their kids to school, go to work, pick up the kids, get them to their events, make dinner, run errands, etc, and do it on time. Without explanation or excuse.

I'm curious as to what public service she does full time when her campaign info states very clearly she gave up working so she could spend all her time campaigning. Last time I looked, campaigning wasn't public service.

Ok GREENBEE, you say she does full time public service. Really! Has she not shirked her responsibilities as a legislator by not showing up for meetings and votes how many times now? Is she not paid to be there? Yes she is. What will be your opinion when she doesn't show up for work as a County Clerk? You're ok with that how?

lets vote for cornell, the only job she has ever held has been paid for by tax dollars, think about it who better than someone who has never worked in the public sector or held a real job to run your government, I mean she is a perfect fit, shows up late to meetings, misses votes, skips important sessions so she won,t have to exspose her true colors.crys foul when things do not go her way. Wow my idea of a perfect political player, please vote this year

Well the answer is she stands as a purely political animal who will take any stand as long as she thinks it will be to her political advantage. She puts very little actual work into her legislature job and is basically owned by the Democratic Party and the CSEA union. This is a small poor county and why political party is of any significant importance is beyond me. Arrives late or is a no show for many important events. Be prepared to watch her no show at the county home vote. If you vote for her as county clerk and she wins you deserve what you get!

bobbojr: I'm sorry, but I just can't let your ignorant comments go without rebuttal. It boils down to integrity, character and qualifications for the Clerk's race. Cornell's conduct as a Legislator, AN ELECTED POSITION, has shown her to be a poor representative of her constituents and the County Taxpayers. People want to have faith that they've elected a competent, hardworking and trustworthy official. Cornell is displaying none of those characteristics. And for the tea bagger comment.....well..... I think you're off-base and have no idea of the political ideology of those who've commented. Please respond, but come a little stronger this time. You're the one who comes of as the babbling fool.

Uhh.... The Office of County Clerk has what to do with the sale of The County Home? NOT ONE SINGLE THING! So, why should she comment. Just a bunch of Tea Bagger elephants babbling on as they do. They know all the rest of us know nothing, just check with them. They are all knowing, the Oracle of Knowledge and Righteous in God's name. You want the argumentative, ill mannered and hot tempered Larry Barmore, who "appears" so mild mannered or tries to. Never wonder why people keep leaving his place of business and never returning, because I just told you why.

If she wanted to stop being a legislator to run for County Clerk then she should have stepped down and let someone who is committed to the job take her place - and her paycheck. In fact, she should donate her paycheck to a worthy cause since she's not earning it.
