New emergency room? now closing, well that's the problem right there, what administrator would say yes to a new emergency room, when knowing it was closing. Get rid of this administrator and or staff who make the decisions for this hospital. Bad, bad judgments for a hospital.

Actually Westfield Hospital is probably next....then Olean, Brooks and WCA will linger a couple years before doctors start to retire or relocate to larger medical facility areas an can not be replaced. Obamacare is like a cancer that will cause a long painful death to rural health care. At least we can be wisked off to Erie or Buffalo if there is an emergency....just hope we can survive the ride.

Reduce welfare benefits so that people will take jobs and become taxpayers instead of tax eaters.

askwhy is right on the money. Experts that analyzed Obamacare predicted it would cause many rural and smaller hospitals would be closed as a result. The closings would start with those having fiscal difficulties but would then impact on others who might otherwise have survived. If the politicians want to be useful, they should give the bully pulpit to hospital administrators and let them try to pull the wool away from the eyes of the partisan disbelievers.

Love politicians....always coming in a day late and dollar short. Better ask around and see how many other medical facilities and providers in region have backs up against the ropes. As you all battled over the ACA, you ignored the voice of health care professionals...and now you will see the results Just count how fewer doctors are practicing in area compared 3 or 5 years ago.

Irving has maybe 100 residents. Dunkirk, the nearest "city" has 11,000 and dwindling.

Create Jobs. Jobs. Jobs. Jobs.
