It may be an improvement besides now politicians can blame everything on the federal as well as the state level.

Call senator Reid and Obama tell them stop blaming everyone except themselves for their destruction of America. They can start the government by doing the right thing for the people and pass house bills instead of always trying political gamesmanship.

Reid and Obama could pass the legislation being handed to them by the House, but they don't. Instead they use kids with cancer as political pawns to play their PR games when the House has passed legislation to keep the National Institutes of Health funded.

You all just don't get it. It is not Reid and Obama using children as pawns it is the radical right tea party that wants to defund a supreme court upheld law, The Affordable Healthcare Act aka Obamacare. They will not pass a bill funding Obamacare which also has coverage for children with cancer, etc. So they are playing games by trying to get everything else in the budget bill passed separately and exclude Obamacare. It is the law - they need to live with it. Period. By the way, the Sequester has already hit some of the programs mentioned in this column. How anyone can believe these Republican talking points is ludicrous. Why are you all not upset that FEMA has re-instated thousands because of the oncoming hurricane? You should be furious! Also, don't get sick with an anomaly or get the flu - the CDC will not be there to help you.

How's that "hope and Change" crap working out? Differing Ideology has become the thrust to punish fellow Americans. Elections had consequences and unattached voters need to understand that! Enough is enough otherwise the Tea Party Patriots is looking better everyday.

Also, the budget that the President is asking for is at the sequester level that the republicans demanded! This is so absurd. The tea party is using the budget as if they have a say in repealing a law by not funding it. This is going to be Boehner's legacy. He needs to stand up to these 80 or so house members and get things done. If he can there is your next presidential candidate, otherwise we will have Hillary with an all-democratic Congress and it will all be because of this idiotic strategy coming from so few. That should make all of you conservatives squirm, but remember, this is how you want it.

Wake Up! The house NEEDS to put the bill on the table that is tied to budget and nothing else.

The Senate and President have already stated that they will vote and sign for the dollars that the Republicans have asked for. Instead, as usual (dems and repubs) have to attach garbage.

abetterplan, the tea party is stubbornly trying all they can to stop the Hope and Change promised. Yet you are wondering where it is. Unbelievable.

PleaseWakeUp, there is no garbage attached. The far right tea party does not want to fund Obamacare. It goes no further than that and is as simple as that.

PleaseWakeUp, the original budget on the table is at the republicans sequester dollar limit which is considerably lower than originally asked by Obama. He has given up a lot already.

This about says it all. Oh, and Howie, the sequester was Obama's idea.

"The White House reportedly doesn’t care how long the government shutdown continues because President Obama is “winning” the political fight. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, an unnamed “senior administration official” revealed that the White House is more interested in a political win than getting the government reopened:

Said a senior administration official: “We are winning…It doesn’t really matter to us” how long the shutdown lasts “because what matters is the end result.”

The last I saw the House had a 10% approval rating, probably lower today. All because the tea party has taken it hostage and Boehner won't stand up to them. Pity (for the conservatives) Hillary in '16 is a sure bet right now!

Seadog, you just keep listening to those right wing lies and be happy in your little world of wrong facts. As always you can not contribute anything to these forums. Better you stop the embarrassment now rather than later.

Left, Right, Con, Lib, Dem or Rep, they're all to blame. This is all a political game to them and the POTUS doesn't help with the childish antics, "They did it!"

Every day brings us closer to cleansing the current system and voting in all new members. A Government OF the People, FOR the People.

Yeah Well get use to it. This big money sucking Governmental machine won't be churning for long. More hadships loom. We'll be fine without them. Just might have to put the I-bone down long enough to take care of each other.

The GOVERNMENT DOES NOT BELONG IN THE HEALTH CARE BUSINESS. OBAMA IS A DICTATOR AND I FOR ONE AM TIRED OF SCHUMER, REID AND OBAMA PUTTING THE BLAME ON ANY INDIVIDUAL POLITICAL PARTY. THE BLAME LIES WITH OBAMA SPECIFICALLY AND THE REST OF CONGRESS IS FOLLOWING CLOSE BEHIND.

Pass flawed laws...then try to fix them after they are put into effect and cost tax payers billions of dollars....it's the Democratic way. Just like they are claiming Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid were great laws. The same laws that had flaws... were then massively expanded beyond their original design.... and are still broken and flawed, full of fraud and costing the United States billions upon billions per year.

Yep, Keep believing that the affordable care act has an affect on this budget proposal.

Again stop putting additional crap into the budget bill. Plain and simple, the health care issue is over! Move on!

Here is a quote that just made my day. "A Quinnipiac poll had Hillary Clinton dominating with 61% of the Democratic field (Biden was second at 11% and Elizabeth Warren third with 7%). Clinton also topped Christie, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul by double digits. Paul led a tightly packed GOP field with 17%"

Read it and weep!

PWU - I will say Hillary would be a far better choice to run this country than the current clown. But then again, she sat by and let 4 Americans die and did nothing to help them "but what does it matter now"?

If she does get elected, imagine the fun Bill will have with all those young female interns around the WH.
