Another Southwestern game with the same front eleven playing both sides of the ball with enough players on side line to start two more teams . yet don't get to play. These twenty plus kids work just as hard yet don't get opportunity to play. Its a wonder the starters so winded and beat. I guess the kids who parents have status or the right side of tracks come first. I know other schools do it to , just get to, just not as much. Should be law all kids play, that show up for practice or at least given chance!! Elitist syndrome is what these coaches have.

This starts with the midgets! Same favoritism.

They might have won if they had a good defensive coach...but he won't get replaced he's the athletic director...he needs to go..

While I am not sure about the favoritism shown at Southwestern(maybe I will - I know some of the kids who start and guess what - they aren't all part of the elite class) I will say welcome to life.

Jay Sirianni has won 4 section and 2 state titles. I don't think he would sacrafise winning to play certain players. We don't know what goes on in practice so you can't say he's not putting the best 11 in his eyes on the field.

When a team has a down year fingers start pointing at coaches decisions. We all want our kids to get to play but there is usually a reason when then don't. Instead of pointing fingers at the coaches tell your kid to bust his butt and earn that playing time. High school sports is a great way to learn that hard work gets rewarded and that playing time is not a given for everyone. Coach Sirianni knows the game and knows his kids. Shame on parents or fans that try to put blame on coaches after losses. It's obviously a rebuilding year at Southwestern. I think the coaching staff is doing a great job, especially with all of the talent that has graduated in the last few years. Sometime parents and fans get spoiled with success and it's so easy to blame coaches when things don't go so well. Diablo, hard work and perseverance gets playing time not just SHOWING UP for practice! Good Luck Trojans!
