You don't take into account what benefits are also paid and who pays them, do they pay there benefits or are they paid by us taxpayers.

Great article. Now focus on budgets from each county. Specifically the Sheriff budgets! Per capita or per square mile Chautauqua is the largest.

I cannot begin to agree with a pay raise for any county employee or official until the government agrees to raise the Social Security and Disability monthly income limits for retired and disabled persons. My yearly income on Disability is $13,632. I have worked ALL of my adult life up until my health prevented it. I paid in my fair share of taxes and insurances. These people are being paid out of those taxes and are getting 10 times the amount that I do. This includes the legislators and officials who set their own salaries and raises. I will guarantee that I worked far harder for my money than any one of them has ever done. Where is the justice in this. Will we get a cost of living raise this year in Social Security? Those raises have been few and far between over the years since I have had to live on this. So, NO I don't think they need any more in their paychecks.

In don't care how long it has been, a salary increase to these top ranking officials while people are going hungry without meals-on-wheels and those on fixed incomes have seen their rent increase as much as $100 a month?! Shame on you for even bringing it up. The sequester MUST end before any public official gets any more benefits. When the public wakes up to what is happening there will be protests for sure. Transportation for TRC clients can't get to work because of the sequester. ALL public employee salaries need to be frozen until the Congress can get a budget passed!
