Change is good, but reducing the size of the county legislature does not improve the democratic process. Democracy is strengthened by involvement;the more people that are involved in the process the better it should get.

The Post-Journal's original headline in the online edition, and the headline in the print edition, on this story was "Farewell, Fred."

The Post-Journal was right to change this in the online edition and owes Mr. Croscut an apology for the original headline, especially after his service to the county.

Fred Croscut is a good man that let his supposed 'power' inflate his ego and get the best of him. His downfall started when he sent his missive demanding that no kind emails regarding Democrats be send. Really? It seems as though change is good sometimes.

Fred has always thought he was pretty special and could not be replaced. Dave will do a great job and Fred can go back to the farm. Good riddance.

politics is the last resort of a scoundrel.. I think that was said by omar kayam but not sure.. anyway..just what to these legislators do besides going to meetings and engage in some type of wierd, juvinile politcal theater (?) I suspect the financial damage Lori Cornell and the other obstructionists such as Hoyer and Whitmey will be remembered in November.. but other than that...wtf? This guy Tarbrake strikes me as a sane, bipartisan sort although we have never spoken.. I did notice he is running unopposed which probably speaks well of him.. the other players? I really do not know...

Politics was never meant to be a career, it was supposed to be an opportunity to serve.

Mr. Croscut has done some good things and some bad things while in Mayville, depending on whom you ask.

I think new people serving in the legislature is always a good thing.

Hey Fred, being featured on page 1 is better than being on page 2!

I was told that Amy Farnham had accepted a job in another county more than a month ago. Why weren't the voters told?
