If Mr. Johnson is content to let the taxpayers continue to fund $8,000-$9,000 per day into this albatross, I'm afraid his fate is sealed. It's not about whether he is right or wrong, it's about what the taxpayers want.

No matter what anyone thinks, we elect representatives to the legislature to decide these matters. Only the Legislature can decide to sell the County Home. The County Executive, no matter who that will be in 2 months, nor the people will make that decision. The legislature has the power to decide to sell it or not. I am sure they will make the right decision and not cave to political pressure. With that said, I agree with much of what Vince Horrigan has pointed out and hope that the Legislature decides on the right people soon. There are so many services that are unsustainable by government and sadly this is one of them. The goal is to make it better by privatizing it and keep it serving the area.
