It is indeed unfortunate that someone took your lighting system. Even sadder is your attempt to steal the flag for a group of people, the military. You talk about the flag representing hope and freedom, then jump to the flag representing the military. It doesn't. The military serves the flag and the people of the United States.

There is no flagpole or standard displayed outside the "BWB Center" where the military recruiters ply their trade.

I'm not sure why he took down the flag at night? Is there some light required to be on it or something?

Why the need to respect the flag? People don't respect our own laws and principles, why do we need to respect a material object that stands for something that use to be in this country.

The flag code was not created until June 1923. Our founding fathers and the politicians of our country thought we should have the FREEDOM to display and respect the flag the way we saw fit. Then in 1923 they thought they knew better and had to tell use how to respect the flag. And they are still telling us how to think, act and live in every aspect of our everyday lives. If you have to tell us how to respect the flag, there is really no respect. Respect is earned, not required.

That is kind of funny, lucky.

So why are all these people all about the idolatry of a certain way to recognize a man-made symbol?

I recall lots of cases of desecration being called constitutional right to expression. I don't recall anyone being prosecuted...but some housing authorities and municipalities forcing people to take them down.
