Every talk show, news outlet, the CBC and Oprah should be required to study every word of the call and testimony of the girl from the trial. Anyone who still les about it should be sent to a mental institution to receive treatment.

Gee, lone, it's amazing how so many people don't let the facts get in the way of their opinions.

Overdrive, Zimmerman was told to "stay put" by a dispatcher, not a police officer and legally, had no obligation to stay put. When punched by Martin and subsequently, getting his head bounced off the sidewalk, threats against him and a struggle over the gun, Zimmerman chose to use deadly physical force to combat the physical force - which could be deadly - being used against him. Zimmerman was overcharged by the prosecuter when the race baiters, Jackson, Sharpton, Obama, et al., got involved in a local death investigation. In the end, the jury had to find him not guilty based on the evidence.

Okay, if I called 911 and was told that I don't have to do that after saying that I was following someone, I would take that as being told to stay put. Seriously, how many people would not do what 911 says? I sure would.

GZ needs to move to an all white village where a gun isn't necessary.

MacKenzie that was right before the police told Zimmerman to stay put. But he was too arrogant...I would certainly have done what the police told me to.

nonfiction-You left out that blacks are overrepresented in government jobs. The ones that make good money, have excellent benefits, and you can't get fired from.

Mack--the attitude from Obama all the way down is the same...."I'm a black man! You can't think I'm suspcious! That's racial profiling.!" They've been taught that by their parents, TV, lawyers, and universities for 45 years.

"legal lychings for over 150 yrs"....that reminds me of the Suth where everyone had a great grand daddy whose farm was burned by Sherman, and they all had a great Grandmother who was a Cherokee princess. This letter is full of lies..THAT is the two Americas.

Amazing. A high percentage of blacks will agree with the letter. That doesn't mean they're right. They voted for Obama, and insist OJ was innocent, and Martin is some kind of martyr. There is a problem. It's the blaming 2 Americas on white people.

When Zimmerman told the dispatcher that Martin was black (btw, that was after the dispatcher asked if he was white, black or hispanic, not what reported by NBC in the "doctored" version of that conversation) it was part of description of the person he believed was acting suspiciously. It was not a racial remark. Personally, I think anyone, white, black, green, blue, whatever, walking around at night wearing a hoodie pulled up to cover their face looks suspicious.

I never said that, bluesman; that must be your opinion. My point was that if there are NO black people who disagree with the letter, then there is a problem. If there is a mix, then there is not and it's a matter of opinion and outlook. Do you see the difference?

I saw that on the networking. Probably true. A social thing, not racist. Sadly to say, even after college they are victims of their own isolaton in a black community rather than community at large. But then, a white guy trhying to be a postman in Detroit probably has no chance either. College degrees, underemployment I don't trust those figures. Too much missing. A welder probably makes more than a school teacher anyway. It's like the teen pregnancy stats. They count married ones. Big difference in the fifties and now. People used to marry!

But the stat that does demonstrate there might be some bias is the unemployment rate for recent college grads. But I looked into this and studies show it may have less to do with skin color and more to do with networking. WHite especially middle class or higher tend to have many more connections in their fields than black peers. At a young age thats what gets you the job, is who you know. Blacks tend to know or have less connections in the business world.

No its not equally employed. Thats saying that 58% of blacks 68% of hispananics and 80% of whites have jobs that meet their education or qualification levels. Basically if you have a college degree, is your job a college degree level job. If you have a BA, or welding certificate and youre cooking at a restaurant you would be considered under employed. Yes your right it isn't very detailed.

Bureau of Labor reports that 42 percent of blacks are underemployed, compared to 32 percent hispanic and 20 percent white. Underemployed could mean unemployed, part time but not working enough hours to sustain a living or over qualified for there Job. College educated person working a job that does not require it. Nearly 90% of jobs are considered occupationally segregated. Meaning a high percentage in that occupation are of one race. Jobs that blacks are under represented in avg income is around 50K, Jobs where blacks are over represented in avg income is about 35K. Unemployment for black college graduates under 26 is more than double that of whites. 10.8 v. 5.3. (Economist Darrick Hamilton).

What bugs me most is people with Ivy League education spending their brain on race baiting and complaining of oppression. Obabma, Dyson, and others. Given a pulpit, they preach divisive lies. It's job security.

I am sick of hearing about the equal opportunity and upward mobility. A good friend of mine from Harlem in the 1960's was told by his Father "Get out. You can't be better here, these people will hold you down to their standards". He did, and did very well. I saw no trace of Harlem in the guy. Everybody goes to school, everybody is free to leave the hood. Or Hicksville. No difference due to color. It's a free country.

When I see the stats on disparity in jobs, jail time, etc. I notice they never consider contributing factors other than race. Criminal record, appearance and manner, speaking, are some. You can make stats say anything your agenda wants. A graduate from a school that won't fail anyone even if they are at an 8th grade level in reading can be the reason behind the "same level of education" you mentioned. Urban black dominated districts are famous for that. Like rural Southern schools are still to some extent.

I agree things like the Zimmerman-Martin circus creates divide and keeps us from having the question of the real divide. Which is things like opportunity and social mobility. Why are blacks with same education levels doing worse than their white peers. Race may not be the issue. But we'll never know until we open our ears and talk about it. Opportunity, poverty and education which are all linked and have a large role, maybe larger than color.
