The auction write up does not say that the items are "duplicates". The ashtrays and the monogrammed sewing kit cannot be "duplicates". How can this museum sell off such rare pieces to support a Comedy Hall of Fame. I am so disgusted with this action! I hope no one shows up at that auction! They should be acquiring things, not selling them off. We should all be asking them where our ACQUISITION FUND money is. I joined the fund a few years back for $2500.00. Now instead of buying, they are selling things off. HORRIBLE!

Notice that they do not say where these items came from. Most charity auctions consist of items donated solely for the purposes of fundraising. Are these items from the Center's collection? Didn't the transfer agreement from the Arts Council specifically prohibit the sale of Center artifacts? Why aren't the current management and trustees of the Center being more honest and forthright? This is like selling your birthright!
