I'm sure BudZilla is being sarcastic - - but I understand and agree with his thoughts. I would have hoped we were civilized enough no to fine cruelty to animals amusing. What a sick form of entertainment. Football and hockey are violent BUT the participants all have a choice!! Animals get no choice, please consider some other form of entertainment. Rodeo sure aren't fun for the animals. Oh my Goldenwoman, you sure are Golden, not real in touch with reality - - really 8 to 16 seconds, the pain resulting from that (and I'm afraid most are more than 8 to 16 second) last for days. Years, but most of those animals don't live for years. Of course there are vets, cheaper to fix up the wounded than buy new calves, bulls, horses to abuse, injure, and maim. Please people, look at this event with fresh eyes. A barbaric way to make money.

Every year this subject comes up. These rodeo animals are better cared for than most privately owned animals. They have vet care on hand for immediate use when needed. The are better fed, hoof care, vaccinations, etc than private animals. The animals used in Rodeos are the life blood of the rodeo. If they weren't well cared for, there would be no rodeo. Furthermore, at best they work 8 to 16 seconds per day to earn the care they receive. Who could ask for more?

Maybe the rest of the county's volunteer fire departments should find ways to profit from animal cruelty as well!
