Jamestown Gas Prices Jump Nine Cents In A Week

Jamestown area gas prices have jumped 9 cents this week to $3.79 per gallon, up 17 cents from this time last year. The national average price for regular unleaded gasoline is $3.67 per gallon....

The reason the gas prices are jumping is because it is the height of vacation season where people are wanting to travel. All of the county fairs, celebrations, etc. are going on and now is the best time to raise the prices because they are going to need the gas to get where they want to go. 'Nuff said!

Other than greed, can anyone explain how or why gas prices would jump 9 cents in 1 week? There are no global crisis threatening supplies. The US has never been in a more positive state energy wise. I just don't get how the oil market works logically.
