So the judge is a bad guy for allowing people to take plan b??? How about doctors perscribing birth control pills to 11 year olds? Yes it happens....quite often. The fact that we don't legally consider a person to be an adult until they are 18 does not mean their body isn't able to do adult things such as have sex and reproduce. Plan b works by essentially sending a surge of hormones into the body to make it think that the female is already pregnant, this keeps the potentially fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. It can lead to temporary heavy menstrual bleeding, mood swings, and temporary signs of pregnancy such as darkened or enlarged areolas. All of these are temporary. In the end, as long as it is not an abused system of birth control, it can be very effective at keeping a female from having an unwanted child. I know it's not pleasant to think about young kids using plan b but it happens. Is a 15 year old gettin an abortion a better option????

No reason to believe kids today will abuse a pill, right?

So now "political correctness" means any idea I don't believe in and want to dismiss without having any actual arguments against it?

Over the counter for 15 year olds. Give me a break. First off no one knows what effect frequent usage would have on young girls just starting their teen years. I say this because just how are you going to enforce OTC drug use. I didn't know photo ID was carried by kids and does this mean if a drug store clerk sells to an underage girl, then that clerk is going to be fined and possible the store owner penalized in some fashion. Who's going to ensure a bunch of 11 year olds won't be taking it. Sounds to me the harmful effects will end up greatly outweighing any benefits.

Why is it that a 15 year old is considered a "grown up", so they can obtain a Plan B pill without consent? AND a 26 year old is considered a "child", so they can remain on their parents' health insurance?

Yes, good one. One more way that the government wants to control our lives.

Maybe it's Obama's attempt at "Everyone should get a fair shot" routine. Routine? Sounds like a stand-up comedian.

Can't get an aspirin at school, but go to the drug store, take a potent drug to stop a pregnancy, no problem. What a country this has become.

I wonder if Michelle will approve of one of her daughters taking this Plan B???

Lets see, I don't want my 15 year old or younger to take plan B because I am worried about the side effects.

I don't suppose there are any side effects to becoming pregnant.

Next---the pill will be dispensed in schools for free to children who qualify for free lunches.

Maybe you should teach your daughter about un-protected sex, then you wouldn't have to worry about either.

Could you imagine the outrage if this had come from someone on the right!!

"OUTRAGE after 'Daily Show' co-creator tweets that OK tornado was meant to 'target conservatives' 'This tornado is in Oklahoma so clearly it has been ordered to only target conservatives,' 'Daily Show' co-creator Lizz Winstead tweeted Monday in a failed attempt at humor that triggered condemnation".

Howard dean. Now that was some funny funny stuff right there. We witnessed the total collapse of a politician in 3 seconds. What an idiot. The sound bites after that catrostrophy are still priceless after all these years. Just the thought of that moment brings tears to my eyes

Seadog, no protection is 100% effective. I just see fewer problems with a girl taking plan B than with becoming pregnant. In a fairy tail world they would just say no but life isn't a fairy tail and many girls would take their chances rather than telling their parents they should be taking plan B.

I guess you missed my point - using protection has nothing to do with living in a "fairy tale world", just common sense. Besides getting pregnant, how about STDs or AIDS, plan B won't help with those? With plan B easily available, why use protection or say no, but then how do you explain to mom and dad you got an STD?

In NY a person can not enter into a contract until they are "OF AGE" or 18 years old.

You can not be a primary account holder at a bank and have a checking account if you are under 18.

Also, you can not purchase Alcohol if you are not "Of Age" or 21 in NY.

Foth-with you can not VOTE in NY until your of age.

However Occasional Sex is permitted if you are "Of age of a woman" or 12?

Who is having sex with 12 year olds these days. When I was a young'n we called that Child Abuse and sex with a MINOR.

Good to know that I now address a 12 year old woman as Ma'am instead of Miss.

Who is having sex with 12 yr olds these days? Way too many people, and it's not child abuse when you're 12-14 yourself. Mostly because it's not only accepted, it's expected. That's the difference.
