Aww, jeez, Seadog, I'm sorry if I asked you to do something you apparently find impossible, like considering something rationally. I shouldn't have asked.

"Its like your ought to have a bone to pick with somebody..."

Yeah, I pick bones with liars. You're a big liar because you use things wrongly to justify your lies. Even worse than a liar, you're a deceiver because of that. The problem with deceivers is they have to deceive themselves first. You're so far gone any one of us could be Jesus Himself and you'd still push your agenda.

"In any case, when you read Romans 13, government is to have a very limited role.."

LOL. Yeah, if you read it with an agenda. If you read it like it's supposed to be read, it says no such thing.

"You can't have it both ways."

You can if you either have alzheimer's or you engage in discourse in such a relative manner that you have no coherent message.

There you go confusing a great society with LBJ's version. Typical prog mistake, actually believing they decide.

50's -your "contributions" on this topic have done very little to advance a "great society."

irony, you sound so much like the guy who was on here before by the name of Michaeltw or whatever. Its like your ought to have a bone to pick with somebody and being indignantly obnoxious about it incapable of politely discussing it. In any case, when you read Romans 13, government is to have a very limited role: keep the peace, uphold justice and punish evil. There is nothing there for it to be involved in everything from housing, welfare, pet projects, education, medical care, retirement, commerce, economic intervention. It serves bascially as a referee, not a playmaker. The Bible says to pay taxes. It says nothing about a prohibition in protesting a system contrary to freedom, fairness and justice. The more liberty under limited government like ours originally the better the more government like it is now the worse: both for freedom and security.

I'm jumping on Mel (omit the Reverend for obvious reasons) for falsely using Scripture for his own needs. The comment by Jazzie was unrelated.

"I wonder why you are jumping on Mel for something Jazzie posted?"

You're wondering because you haven't followed the chronology of the comments. Please, follow along.

Seadog would you care to have intercourse with a morbidly obese woman or a woman who didn't meet your criteria? It's basically the same principle/concept.

50s...lol. You were born with somethings, and then you had to grow and learn the rest. You learn to love your family and friends, you learn to hate things outside your comfort zone, often times not understanding why things are the way they are. Just because one person despises something doesn't mean you have to.

Seadog wrote, "So monkeyboy, you state you are born gay and there is nothing you can do about it - correct? Then maybe you can answer this. If people are born believing that sex between two men or two women is wrong and there's nothing they can do about it - why label them as bigots, haters, or homophobes?? "

Wow. Just . . . wow.

Seadog, are you serious? Do you really believe that people are born believing certain things and others aren't? Do an quick experiment for yourself, Seadog, try changing a belief of yours then try looking at a man and finding him romantically attractive, then tell us which was easier.

Yes, teaching kids that gay people are human and deserve the same dignity and respect everyone else gets is definitely an agenda. What would you rather they learn, Seadog? Apologeticsnow?

Many times an educator will establish role playing to make a point understandable to people, kids and adults too. Until I learn the whole story about this class, I won't pass judgment. Too bad others are so quick to condemn.

And just what's wrong about kids of an appropriate age learning new words? Our language evolves all the time, what's wrong with them learning the words, "pansexual" or "genderqu e e r"? These are real words that describe real things. Why is this wrong? These kids hear and learn a lot worse in the streets, why should they be prevented from learning about reality?

Oy! Please people! If you believe people of the same sex should not marry....then don't marry someone of the same sex! Easy peasey. Problem solved.

Trying to justify homosexual marriage by pointing out divorce is as dumb as tying it with slavery and Jim Crow.

I've known many homosexuals. Nearly all had a similar experience in adolecent/pubescent years. Only a few could I say might be "born that way". One thing for sure, no article will get as many posts as one on gays. Talkative bunch. Redundant, and irrational.

"The bible was written and assembled by man almost 1700 years ago."

False. The earliest manuscripts discovered last century date to the 2nd century A.D. Only a few generations after Jesus and one generation after the disciples.

joshnalicia, balderdash. Ironyoozes, thank you. 50s, excellent logic but you'll get no replies. Monkeyboy, nice "choice" of buzzwords (fundamental lack of understanding, blathering). These are used to incite an emotional response, rather than inject logic. Sorry, not this time. Jazzie, you can either accept or reject God's words (yes, written down by man, but divinely inspired). We all have free will ("choice"), and will choose our eternal destiny. Again, I will not be the judge. Bless you ALL.
