"Until healthy living happens in more homes in Chautauqua County, all other efforts are a waste." Yes! As with most problems, personal responsibility is the only solution.

Well said giogump - "eat, drink, and be merry". Want to be fat, be my guest. Want to smoke, go ahead. Marry who you want. Don't want to work and let the government support you, why not? There, all is right with the world.

Without homosexuals how far would AIDS have spread? Without spouses cheating how far would it spread? Without promiscuity or drug use how many children would have been born with it? Let's be fair and spread the responsibility to where it belongs on all these things that cause destruction, suffering, and is a huge cost. Individual choice of lifestyles.

1. We are all insulin resistant now due to food chemicals 2. We are insulin resistant because many get rich of food chemicals 3. Millions are living insulin resistant and do not know it, due to everyday foods 4. We have been poisoned by artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrups and other FDA food chemicals

Reverse insulin resistant and you lose the weight and diabetes without drugs

There are things the government can do to promote healthy living. One big one would be making the town more pedestrian friendly with better sidewalks, enforcing snow removal laws and even making downtown pedestrian only for part of the week. They can add more bike lanes and bike racks too.

Playgrounds could be improved with handball walls and other infrastructure to promote adult oriented physical activity.

While it's our job to get ourselves moving, there's a lot our governments can do to help along and promote it.
