I can't imagine an ordained man of the cloth, hesitant to speak about "compassion." Mindboggling------

Really, Loner. You don't comment against it? You just invented a 40 year study of same-sex marriage and pointed out it showed gays having a higher rate of what you call "divorces" even though there were no marriages. Was that in support of same-sex marriage? Was it even neutral? Was it even true? If you don't care, why are you always here?

I see, Lonerider. You just made it up. And look at the brilliant responses from Loner and 50's. Loner keeps saying he doesn't care but he's always here commenting against it.

Seadog, do you think child molestation is funny?

I find it hard to understand why you and 50's complain about same-sex marriage and gay rights and state you are sick of hearing about it and you say you don't care about it but you are always here. Now you say you don't "believe in" same-sex marriage. For someone who doesn't care about it you sure do spend a lot of time writing about it.

Loner, how can you study same-sex divorces for 40 years when there was no such thing for at least 35 of those years? Compare it to heterosexual couples living together without being married and you get a more accurate comparison. What study are you quoting? Another right-wing thumper website?

Latest argument against same sex marriage equality from right wing icon, Alan Keyes:

"Paul Fidalgo today noticed a speech Keyes delivered at a college in Michigan, where he made the case that the government can’t recognize gay rights, reproductive rights and the separation of church and state, just as we shouldn’t recognize the right of a person to pick their nose and eat their boogers."

The science disagrees with you, PhD1960.

and this, for 50s4ever:

"On July 24, New York will join the league of states that allow gay marriage. Meanwhile, demographic data show that this group is already united in another significant way: lower-than-average divorce rates." h t t p://w w w.usnews.c o m/news/articles/2011/07/06/divorce-rates-lower-in-states-with-same-sex-marriage

"The bottom line is that the science shows that children raised by two same-gender parents do as well on average as children raised by two different-gender parents," said Timothy Biblarz, a sociologist at the University of Southern California. "This is obviously inconsistent with the widespread claim that children must be raised by a mother and a father to do well."

Both studies were described in a literature review paper published in February 2010 in the Journal of Marriage and Family.

Many of those who oppose gay marriage and gay adoption charge that same-sex parents aren't good for kids, and that a child needs both a father and a mother to grow up to be a healthy adult. Research, however, shows that children of gay parents tend to fare just fine.

For example, one recent study looked at nearly 90 teens, half living with female same-sex couples and the others with heterosexual couples, showing that both groups fared similarly in school. Teen boys in same-sex households had grade point averages of about 2.9, compared with 2.65 for their counterparts in heterosexual homes. Teen girls showed similar results, with a 2.8 for same-sex households and 2.9 for girls in heterosexual families.

Another study found that kids with two moms or two dads were no more likely than their counterparts in "traditional" homes to engage in delinquent activities, such as damaging others' property, shoplifting and getting into fights.

Yep. That would make it healthy. Wait 'til you see the divorce rate of gender benders. Wasting your time PhD, these people can't recognize a gender, let alone the purpose in a social structure.

"Pedophiles harm kids. Gay couples do not. What part of this don't you understand?" Sorry to disagree, but gay couples do harm kids. Those who adopt, anyway. Kids need a mother and a father to be raised in a healthy home. Two dads won't work, two moms won't either. Children suffer when either is lacking.

He doesn't understand the part about gays not being any more likely to be child molesters than heterosexuals are. He doesn't understand that people don't choose to be gay. When someone like him decides he will not believe any facts that don't support what he already has decided, it makes debate a waste of time.

You're not very convincing when you claim you aren't gay, but speak for millions of them. Everybody in NAMBLA thinks they are right, just like you, and they will use the same process to get their "civil rights."

50's I am talking about people who try to use the Bible to justify their bigotry, not religion itself. They are perverting religion. Quit trying to be the victim and there's that pesky reading comprehension problem again.

Gee, PHD, there are millions of gays who would argue that they are able to work around any plumbing issues. Using capital letters does not strengthen your argument. You claim that "you can't pick and choose what is right and wrong" yet that is exactly what you are doing. Personally, I believe that people who try to use the Bible to justify their bigotry are perverted.
