Don't either of you have a family...or a job...or a park nearby to go to instead of oval-twerking for days?

Giogump, you are making an assumption that Obama filed the long form and itemizing their deductions. Let's see, no mortage interest deduction, no medical deductions, and only charitable deductions. So, could it be he had to file the standard form? 18.4% puts him in the 1% doesn't it?

WALL STREE JOURNAL By COREY BOLES

WASHINGTON—" Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in federal income taxes in 2012 on adjusted gross income of $608,611, an effective rate of 18.4%, the White House said Friday.

The first family's income declined from the $789,674 in adjusted gross income they reported in 2011. That year they paid total federal taxes of $162,074, an effective rate of 20.5%. Their 2012 income continues a steep decline from 2010 when they reported $1.7 million in adjusted gross income, the bulk of which was royalties from sales from books written by Mr. Obama"

Well giogump, this is the last news story stating the fact that the Obama's DON't pay their fair share. And one more thing - if this is all made up, why haven't your pals on the left posted to agree with you and defend your incredibly stupid math.

4/12/2013 11:54 p.m. Post shows what happens when you don't know how to do your taxes.

Giogump, it WASN'T me that came up with 18.4%! How in the world do you think I made it up! I have listed a number of NEWS STORIES stated the 18.4% figure. Unfortunately in your world of fantasy and fairy dust, you can not get it through your pathetic head. Go do another bowl, and sweet dreams.

my last word on this topic,--take your calculator, that will necessitate moving off your little button, and calculate what percentage of 335,000 taxable income, the figure of $118,000 might be. If you come up with 18%, try again or replace the batteries. Honest Abe is watching.

NBC NEWS "President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama released their federal income tax returns for 2012 (.pdf) on Friday, and the First Wallet took a bit of a hit: the Obama's adjusted gross income was about 23 percent less than what it was in 2011. Their federal income tax rate was 18.4 percent, down from 20.5 percent the prior year"

Giogump: hopefully this is enough to prove to you how wrong you are and how your hero doesn't PAY HIS FAIR SHARE. Is he a 1%er?

From ASSOCIATED PRESS Last Updated: 4:58 PM, April 12, 2013 Posted: 2:39 PM, April 12, 2013 WASHINGTON — "President Barack Obama's 2012 tax returns show he and first lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in taxes last year on $608,611 in adjusted gross income. They paid an effective rate of 18.4 percent for their federal income taxes.

The adjusted gross income figure is down from 2011, when the Obamas reported almost $790,000 in income. They made substantially more in previous years, with much of it coming from book sales"

Do as I say, not as I do!!!

"(Politico)

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama earned just over $600,000 in 2012, far less than they took in during 2011, according to their tax return, released by the White House on Friday.

The Obamas reported an adjusted gross income of $608,611 during the election year, more than $180,000 less than they grossed for the previous year. They paid $112,214 in federal taxes, an effective rate of 18.4 percent. In 2011, they paid an effective tax rate of 19.2 percent"

Gio and Seadog - difference is marginal vs. effective.

My effective rate was about 14% this year. Not counting my SE tax which was 15%.

At least Obama paid 18%. Better than Mittens who made far more.

Although, I'm not sure what your point is, Seadog. Clearly, by raising taxes Obama has implicated himself and acknowledge he should be paying more by default.
