The scouts announced today that they will lift their ban on gay kids in scouting. That's only half way. Now they need to lift their ban on gay leaders. They still are operating under the misconception that gays are child molesters.

Disagreeing with you does not denote an attack yet you (phil & 560's to the extreme) and Scalley all seem to think if someone disagrees with you then it is appropriate to go into personal attack mode. A slight is determined by the person receiving it, not the person committing it.

Scalley, your comment was pathetic.

rude? yes. nasty? always. insulting? again, because you perceive slight doesn't make it so. also, as 50s correctly pointed out, don't be a hypocrite.

"Pot calling the kettle black" seems appropriate here.

No, Phil, you are rude, insulting and nasty. There is no need for it.

also, there's a difference between insulting & condescending. if you took offense & feel insulted by my condescending attitude towards you than i am truly sorry. but there is a difference.

please quote my "insult" simianlad so i can consequently make fun of you for being offended by something that's completely inane.

also, i've posted about other things besides homosexuality (which you would've noticed if you weren't here solely to beat the drum).

what you continue (& continue, & continue, & continue) to fail to understand is that the groups/entities that disagree with the discriminatory practices of the BSA have the rights (& have exercised said rights) to pull their funding.

but the crux (please try to grasp as this is the last time i'll explain) is you can't make a private organization accept everybody.

the friggin end.

If you don't care about the issue, as you have said twice now, why do you keep posting comments here with your opinions and insults?

since the theme for the last couple months here on the forum is "things that begin with the letter g"

so let them lose their funding. let them eat cake. maybe they can resort to selling boy scout cookies heck i don't know & i don't care. they are a private entity. ifs, &s, buts aside, i think it's great that entities with large sums of money that previously donated to the BSA have now stopped because of their discriminatory policies. good for them. end of story.

again, if the BSA chooses to disallow zebras, homosexuals, aliens, mailboxes, &/or frying pans well then that's their prerogative. just as we have the right to whine about what a private club does they also have the right to be narrow in their scope of membership.

Separate but equal? That was the basis for Jim Crow. Phil, you still miss the entire point. The Boy Scouts are losing funding from municipalities and corporations who have non-discrimination policies. They can still do what they want, just not with money from organizations who don't discriminate. It's sort of like you giving money to the charity of your choicer. Does that mean you are bullying the charities to which you don't contribute?

Isn't it wonderful how human nature can remain so consistent down through the generations. Pilgrims fled England because of intolerance and once established in New England, they became every bit as intolerant as the people causing them ti emigrate. Today, we have gays just as bullying as the people who bullied them in the past. And for some to just shrug it off as "what goes around comes around" just doesn't get it. Two wrongs don't make a right. Instead of forcing themselves on an organization, why don't they just form their own youth organization.

OR maddog, maybe she has no problem with homosexuality, BUT is against gay marriage. Funny how there are two sides to every story.

Since he was an established longtime customer and she had no problem taking his money previously, it sounds like she is a newly born again Christian or a hypocrite.

I wonder if suing this flower shop is considered bullying???

"The State of Washington is suing a small flower shop after the owner declined to provide flowers for a homosexual wedding – based on her religious beliefs.

Barronelle Stutzman, the owner of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, Wash., is facing thousands of dollars in fines and penalties for allegedly violating the state’s Consumer Protection Act.

“If a business provides a product or service to opposite-sex couples for their weddings, then it must provide same-sex couples the same product or service,” Attorney General Bob Ferguson said in a statement.

On March 1, a longtime customer asked Stutzman to provide flowers for his upcoming same-sex wedding. According to court documents, she told him that she would not be able to do so “because of her relationship with Jesus Christ.”

when i was a kid i hated the days i had to stay inside & play video games during my summer vacation because it was storming or pouring outside.

now parents make investments in gaming consoles, games, & accessories as one-time babysitting fees.

the previous is a link to an article that has nothing to do with the BSA. nonetheless a good read. per usual, remove spacing.

valid points made by the author. & i love love love the hypocrisy from the huff post (left) how atypical lol.

...seem to remember a lot of denying of the author's thesis a few months back from a few of the forums favorites....

because they prey on fears in the same way gun proponents do. the only organizations threatening western civilization with collapse (that i'm worried about) are al qaeda & a few other (who flung dung in NK, hardliners in iran).

If that's true, formerlyphil, then why are all these so called "family" organizations threatening western civilization with collapse, among other things, if they choose to allow gay scouts and scout leaders?
