Volunteer fire fighters are on call 24/7. They lose time from work and family, use their own vehicles and gas to respond to calls and receive NO benefits, unlike the government workers and CSEA members. Volunteer fire fighters get no health insurance for life, no NYS Retirement and No pay. Maybe the Chautauqua County Legislature should use the money from the sale of the County Home to provide this service to all the Volunteer Fire Departments in Chautauqua County.
