The election is next week. If you are a village of Lakewood resident, be careful and do your research before re-electing Mr. Troche.

Mayor Wordelman needs to replace Joe Troche as the head negotiator on the police contract between the Village of Lakewood and the Town of Busti. It has been over a year and this guy can't get this thing done. He keeps moving the goal posts everytime the Busti board agrees. In this case, the Busti board agreed to up the town's portion monies to be paid. The amount is fair and equitable. The town of Busti is CONTRACTING with the village for police services. It is what everyone is clamoring for, consolidation of services, shared services. In the case of the police department, this example of shared services occurred 30 years ago. With all due respect to Mr. Troche and his service to this community, he has difficulty working withing the system(government) as it exists. The citizens of Busti AND Lakewood are in jeopardy of being the losers in this lack of a "deal".
