If you find time to write this garbage and send it in to the paper, you just be an idiot.

I consider myself a conservative but don't fit any of the letter. There are extremists on both sides that are just a copy/paste of what they're told to be and once you go that route, logic and thought go out the window.

If you post a comment criticizing this letter, yet can't refute it, you might be a conservative.

If you write an article to the post journal referencing a mid 90's comic with a short shelf life...............you just might be old and out of touch.

Why even waste your time writing that Jeff Foxlefty?

Todd is merely pointing out some hypocrisies amongst conservative thinking. A few minutes well spent, Todd.

What you seem to call hypocrisies, other liberal groups such as the ACLU would call stereo-typing or profiling. Making generalized, derogatory statements about groups of people seems to be against everything the left stands for. Hypocrisy???

This might be cute if the author penned it instead of copying from facebook.

What a divisive, angry, stereo-typing person todd is, That in itself says enough about this letter and those listed below that agree with him.

This article simply highlights the inherent problem with current politics. Political parties themselves are the ones dividing this country. The idea that I checked the box marked Republican when I was 18, does not mean that I agree 100% with everything that a "conservative" believes in as I am sure that anyone who checked Democrat may not be a line towing "Liberal". By classifying people into these categories and forcing politicians to classify themselves lead to disagreements where there may never have been one to begin with. Eliminate political party affiliation and there will no longer be a blame game going on in DC or Albany, you would vote for the person whose ideals align the most with yours, wherever they may fall instead of running right down the line to mark all democrats or republicans on your voting ballot. I have a mind of my own and do not need to classify myself in order to vote or sculpt my beliefs. I hope you all do as well.

To be fair: there is hypocrisy like these examples on both sides. I am, however, kind of surprised the PJ printed this letter. Hmm

Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, spray all of the other monkeys with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result - all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon, when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it. Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all of the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs, he will be assaulted. Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked.

The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he is attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey. After replacing all the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana. Why not? Because as far as they know that's the way it's always been done round here.

First off this letter is offensive and there is no button to kill it. Secondly, coppergoat and others...if you dare someone to refute 'might be" you are a liberal.
