Selling the home will provide much needed property tax dollars to the dunkirk schools, ( unless you dont care about kids) selling the home would save millions of taxpayers dollars every year, selling the home to wm rothner would make a 1star quality home to wm rothners other 4 star homes, ( if you care about the patients), selling the home means more services that the current home can not offer meaning more jobs (if you care about jobs) adding more services at the home means more people coming into the area translating into more business for hotels, resturants, local businesses and the over 16 million from the sale would help our budget. The additional income tax and sales tax the private owner would have to pay will help the state.

The home needs to be sold, its a pitiful one star home. Why is it any different than the privately owned homes in the county?

Where is the negotiators...I'm befuddled watching this issue become so black and white.

Both sides become so vested and prideful in regards to their viewpoints that they end up hurting all of us in Chautauqua County.

Sit down with the Unions, give them time to make the home profitable. 1 year, 2 year, 3 years, I dont know, but give them a chance to right the ship. If they cant find someone who can.

Consider a long term lease instead of a sale. Keep the revenue coming forever rather than take a one time payment that will just be spent and then gone.

Not saying either of those will work, but my point is, there are other solutions. There has to be other options. I'm dismayed to say the least that no one (in leadership) is creative enough to find one.

As a WNYerI find the comparison to the Bills poster offensive. Being told to "move on" has been a Obama supporter mantra since the election. Clearly written by a CSEA member, and shows their insensitivity to county property taxpayers. calling people suffering under some of the highest tax burden in the county a sore loser is pouring salt in our wounds especially when CSEA is the one who rigs the game in he first place.

And we think Washington DC is disfuncional? Chautuaqua county has nothing on DC when it comes to wastefully spending taxpayers had earned dollars on costly wasteful programs. They stare you right in he face and do it. County tax payes should just hold back tax payments until they et it right...maybe if all taxpayes stop paying taxes they will get he hint.

Amazing. When (not if) the county home is sold. The new owner (for profit) needs to look at the Luthern complex. Can you imagine the grouth and new tax revenue the property that the County home is on. Not selling the county home does not make sense. I don't care if you do not like the buyer or not. grow up, and do what is best for our County.

Now, do supporters of selling the county home have the smarts to make this an issue in the 2013 elections?
