Askhy, Well put. Rules, rather laws, are there for reasons.

Wisechoice2010, I am glad you brought up the signs in lakewood. Did you see that Troche and Drago put up their signs 3 days earlier than allowed by election law? How are we to trust trustees who break election laws? Dirty tricks in politics.

If you drive through Lakewood you'll also see DiSalvo signs in the lawns and businesses of those who live on the lake or members of the yacht club. Maybe someone should remind him he represents all of the residents of lakewood not just those who will give him money to do what they want. Just a casual observation.

kind of funny a village board race(s) would get this much attention. Lakewood is at the vanguard of local government... they are good at handling police budgets and used car lots.

Troche also voted against Police budgets and Busti Town Rec. funding. He has been the do nothing vote in almost all Lakewood issues. Lakewood is lucky to have Dave DiSalvo run. He has 25 years experience as a Professional Urban Planner, a Manager of award winning Upstate Planning Projects. Expert knowledge of zoning laws. A masters degree in Urban Planning. Couldn't wish for a more qualified candidate. Drago and Troche should just draw straws to see which of them should bow out now of election and let lakewood have a leader it desperately needs.

I want to remind Lakewood voters that Mr. Troche was one of the board members that put forward restrictions to the use of the right-of-way accesses by Lakewood residents who do not own lakefront property. Ultimately, it was turned down, after the voters put up stink. The board then enacted some rules for the right-of-ways, that seem to be working for the most part. There are only a few property owners that abut the right-of-ways that are not complying. Why Mr. Troche changed party affiliation is unknown.
As for Mrs. Drago, we don't really hear much from her, probably mostly because the meetings are dominated by others.
Mr. DiSalvo is an unknown, newcomer to the community. I applaud him for taking enough interest in the community to get involved. His resume indicates that he knows about how government works. But, as I said, he is an unknown.
