It's really obama and his people that want to know where every weapon is so he can eventually try to confiscate them when he fianlly realizes the public is not for him and his policies and intend to defend themselves if necessary.

You sound a little crazy and fanatical there, Conservative1212? Obviously you are being facetious but the scary thing is many really do believe that. Good thing there are no more Fuller Brush men going door to door - they would be shot on site as an "Obama gun collector." This story gets more hilarious by the day!

Howard's comments are short history. The Obama's plan is on fast starting with condemnation (done), now registration(in process) and then confiscation(loss of liberty). Too bad someone like Howard is never present when misguided men like Obama and their armed militias must force the evils of socialism on disarmed and their disorganized subjects.

I also appreciate Mr G's warning. I work with a few anti-gunners as howard appears to be. Remembering back to the "bucky days" one fellow in the stockton area had to leave work early to protect his family. but he then realized after thinking it through when he got home he nothing to protect them with.... wake up H

Hobby123 are you sure? It could be misinformation about Sheriff Gerace. People on talk radio were saying that the Sheriff said not to bother with that form and that wasn't true. I'm glad he came out with this press release. Misinformation is a big problem with this issue right now.

"The "opt-out" forms, now available on the Sheriff's Office website for filing, are required for firearm holders who wish to keep their identity exempt from Freedom of Information Law requests." That's wounderful! Want to steal a legal gun? Find out who has them! Hell, we can make an anual publication/journal for NY and sell it! The name? Kim Jong Cuomo's Gun Finder! Slogan? "Remember, its the unions that caused this".

Now that pistol permit info is FOILable (unless opting out) I say open carry should be legal. Want to know if I carry a gun? Look on my belt, I have nothing to hide.
