Unfortunately, Lori Cornell's political career is not necessarily over. There are probably enough blinded Democrats who will vote for her or any other D candidate in any election. In reality, she would do less damage as the County Clerk. HOWEVER, She does not deserve to hold public office after her self-serving stance on the County Home issue. And I'm not talking about her tearful smokescreen about her grandmother....She tried to ride the fence by saying I don't like the owner but want the home sold. This response was crafted to try and appease both camps on the issue of the Home sale. You can't have it both ways. She is a fraudulant lawmaker and a full-time politician who's just trying to worm her way into a career elected position. Let's make sure that doesn't happen.

Government should be judged on how the least of us (the poor and otherwise disadvantaged) are treated. Having said this I still believe in my heart that the Home should still be sold..hmm

Hoyer and whitney have their own agenda based on their social ideology and not the peoples wishes.

It appears as though Ms. Cornell reclused herself because the voters in her district had already made it clear to her that The Home needed to be sold, if it were going to survive as a Nursing Home. Ms. Cornell went against all of the facts regarding the sale and also negated the taxpayers view on the sale. Having her grandmother in the Home has absolutely nothing to do with the sale of the Home. Mr. Whitney and Mr. Hoyer should attempt to cry as well, because the voters in their districts feel the same as those in Ms. Cornells! THE HOME MUST BE SOLD TO SURVIVE!!!!!!

I have NEVER gotten a reason why this home should be treated any different than the many other privately owned homes in the county.

Isnt Dunkirk one of the lowest rated (1 star) homes in the county?

We can vote on selling the home by voting for those that would do our business. If you voted for someone and they refuse to do your business, vote against them. The majority will have their way. Sooner or later.

Cornell was voted into office by those who expect her to do their business. When she decides to go against those who put her in office, she is history and the rest of us outside of her district can see what she is and has no chance of winning any election for any job that serves the people. She simply gives the finger to those who voted her in office. Who would elect someone like that, she has a public record that she can not over come.

Just cant wait till November so we, the voters can really voice our opinion.

In an abstract way there is indeed a conflict of interest here. However, if Lori is really going to be honest with the voters and herself.. she should not cop out. Either way it is pretty clear that her political career is over. My hunch is that she is a nice person who will do ok in the real world. She holds a degree from a prestigious school and will land on her feet. Lori... start preparing yourself for a gig with no more stipends, mileage or monthly cash for sitting around meetings doing nothing.

More accurately a perceived conflict is more of a profound truths that America as we approach it and is no longer one nation under God.
