The big 4 cults - Jehovah's Witness, Mormons, Christian Scientist, 7th Day Adventist. There are many more smaller cults as well.

whinny--I say parents who don't choose the school their kids go to are abusiing them. Did the state bus you somewhere for diversity purposes or a state religion experiment? What is that? State Hate High? Keep your nose out of other families' business.

Adults are free to believe anything they want. Children in this school are being intellectually abused because they are placed there by their parents.

I dismiss anyone who dismisses most of the world as being ignorant for not believing their way.

The fact that they believe and teach "the fundamental world view of creationism versus evolution" is reason enough to dismiss them.

If they believe in Christ's message and attempt to live a Christian life, they are Christians. It's nobody's business to determine whether someone else is religious or not. Live your own life according to your beliefs and let others do the same.

It would be fair to say that many Christian denominations claim to be so, but actually don't follow the Bible. Rather, they make up their own teachings and use snippets of texts to try and support their beliefs. Doctrines are to be supported by numerous texts, and have broad support throughout the entire Bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses hold several beliefs that cannot be supported biblically. They are listed as a cult in Kingdom of the Cults, by Walter Martin. Seventh-Day Adventists, he explicitly says are NOT a cult. In any case, one should review a religious organization for themselves before making rash statements or accepting what you read in posts like these. Conservative said earlier that you ought to pick a school that teaches the truth of the Bible. His advice is sound, however he does not realize that Seventh Day Adventists can back up every doctrine they put forth with biblical support. Almost every other Christian denomination hold beliefs that can NOT be supported biblically. Show some proof of your statements folks. Give some evidence.

Conservative might want to do a little fact checking before saying these folks are a cult and not Christian. They have been identified as a Christian group by nearly every authorized source. Notable organizations that list cults, do NOT list Seventh-Day Adventists as a cult. See factnet**** or check the reference in the wiki listing.

Many home schooled kids do very well. I see two basic scenarios. 1.) the extraordinary parent with bright kids. Parents smart enough to teach and expose the children to socialization outside the home and 2) the religious nutcase who wants to "shield" the child from our secular world. The difference? One of these parents thinks they are watching a documentary when they watch the Flintstones.

Might be very nice people but NO NO NO.They are a cult and not Christians. Pick a School that teaches the truth of the Bible.
