As long as the merger does not increase school taxes for chautauqua school district property owners for educating kids from another school district. Many second home owners on lake and in Chautauqua Institution cannot vote on school issues, but end up paying the lions share of taxes on these self serving decisions made by the local special interest groups.

I don't understand the comment. "some teachers may lose their jobs" Why would any teachers remain if all the students are gone. I have not seen in writing yet what will happen to the teachers. I would assume their all gone, right.

People losing their jobs is where most of the savings will come from. People always seem to forget that fact when government costs are discussed.
