What you describe, 50s4ever, is not what this law is about. Maybe you should learn what the bill actually covers before making judgments?

Guess I don't get the difference between domestic vilence and asault in the street. Did cops quit charging people who beat their spouse in their own home or something? These are time wasting legislative pandering.

If your comprehension is so weak that you cannot understand my points, 50s4ever, then perhaps you should refrain from criticizing them.

I won't repeat myself.

Dispense with the hyperbole, mockery, and vile attacks, and tell us just what your points were emelye. You didn't make any, just wild leftist rants like some parrot. And they aren't undocumented immigrants. They are illegal aliens.

Isn't it fascinating what kind of replies I get! Mockery, hyperbole, victim blaming and personal attacks - all of which say nothing against the points I made. I guess those who replied had no real argument against what I said but felt compelled to illuminate their lack anyway.

I see Emelye is one of the walking dead. And they wonder why there is such a division between parties.

Didn't we just hear all about women wanting to fight on the front lines along side men. There are more women on planet earth but there considered a minority? Do u know why they spank new born babies? If you know the answer keep it quiet please.

In all honesty the laws have indeed evolved to the point where Domestic Violence is taken very seriously by law enforcement and the Court. When the cops go out on a DV call chances are that someone is going to spend the evening in the iron bar hotel. That's a good thing. My only counterpoint is this: the feminist agenda has grown so strong that you can actually be locked up for something like "yelling" or slamming the door when you leave the house thus "scaring" women... There really has to be a balance..

This issue has nothing to do with passing a budget, banning guns or improperly propping up union membership. It's about giving law enforcement the tools it needs to better enforce the laws agains domestic violence that can, and quite possibly has, affect your own families. Don't you people care about the mothers, sister and daughters in this country and how they are disproportionately victimized by violence in the home?

The Republican party is obstructing this vital law in service of its vile discriminatory policies against women, undocumented immigrants and LGBT people. The American people are waking up to their total disregard for the majority of America's citizens while they serve their extremist right wing base and corporate owners. I think they should reexamine their harmful politics and start thinking about more than just themselves.

Assault is against the law. No matter sex, race, creed, national origin or sexual orientation. Unnecessary legistlation as usual, don't recall what all is tacked onto it, but you can bet there is.

Violence against anyone is illegal, schumer simply wants to APPEAR to be for women As if theres anyone who is for violence, which makes this a political scam that feeds more money to the big union jobs.

In some cases we need some laws regarding violence against men. Check out the Jodi Arias case...just one extreme example...but it happens.

But you are all right, stick to the priority issues...like maybe the Budget!!!

Little Senator Chucky would be shocked to find that he and his useless fellow Senators have not passed a budget in three years thanks to Searchlite Harry and Barry Husein Obama. Something they both have pledged to do. Try to distract the folks with women's issues.

If the voters in New York ever want to start this state going in the right direction, they should get rid of Democrats for a couple of election cycles. As for hypocrite Schumer, every time he steps in front of a camera, the media should ask him why he doesn't call for passing a budget. Trouble is, most of the media is in the tank for Dems. Witness CBS,for example, they've run 44 anti-gun stories and 2 pro-gun stories. That's pretty close to the same ratio pro and con for Obama. And the sheep dutifully follow along.
