I see nothing more than a run of the mill political appointment here. Being a good "conservative democrat" has nothing to do with one's ability to attract business or affect economic development. I also believe the his business in town went belly up.

I agree with Gio..this individual has been engaged with city business for some time now...a conservative Democrat, he has worked well with both sides of the aisle...I know Mr DeJoy owned a business in town awhile back...I like the selection..the council will be losing a strong member..Good luck Mr DeJoy!
