People are moving out of this town because of lack of leadership - both town and school board. Enrollment dropped by 100 in the last few years - thats a significant decrease. Ripley needs to clean house and get rid of the "good ol' boys". I'm tired of paying for their benefits and inflated salaries.

durango03 - So it's the school board's fault that enrollment is dropping like a rock? That's the primary problem, not just with Ripley, but with all area schools.

There was no info on what the tax implications will be. No info on what it will cost to send students. We've been here long enough to know that all the school board can accomplish is higher taxes for residents, and higher pay and better benefits for staff and administration while taking programs away from the kids. If they had started cutting the fat years ago the school wouldn’t be in the shape it is. The failure of the school is a direct reflection of the ineptitude of the school board over the past two decades to do anything to improve it. Not to mention they are often less than honest. Sorry - just had the wool pulled over my eyes one too many times the last 20 + years. My tax bill is high enough - over $5000, what do I get . . . nothing.

The school districts need to start doing something, there aren't enough kids to keep all of the schools open. I know alot of people don't want to see change but this needs to be addressed, can't afford to keep them open.

I guess they won't need that distance learning lab any more. No distance learning needed, no more votes needed, they can use it to store empty desks.
