As good as CLCS might be I think parents will vote this option down. It is just too far to take the kids. The road from Westfield to Mayville is dangerous in winter. It makes more sense to go to Westfield. If Ripley has only twenty two kids in a graduating class it must be like going to a one room school house.

We're going to need to build a few more Apple Yards for this...

There was a proposal to merge Westfield and Ripley a few years ago that got voted down IIRC. Ripley is still looking for a partner.

There's been talk about a regional HS in the western part of the county, and all these schools would still have to send kids to a central location to make it work if that comes to fruition. This might be a start.

What happened to distance learning? If students can complete a Masters program via internet in to their homes, why can high schools get together via distance learning? They have the technology.

Can we expect those who are the experts in education with years of training to collectively solving this simple problem to educate the children of chautauqua county. Is that asking to much or do you want a never ending increase in pay over and over again?

Bus kids to the "richer" school. CLCS needs kids to keep teacher jobs. Riply can no longer afford a school. Everyone wins? WRONG. Now CLCS teachers will want more money to educate kids that are no even from the area...and Institution and lakefont homeowners who are not local voters will pick up the bill when budget is expanded.

Good move. Now I understand. Local school districts will be forced to combine with larger districts (city) in the near future. If you can bus Ripley students to CLCS to save a buck, you sure as*****can bus Falconer/Frewsburg/Mayville to Jamestown. That is a lot of bucks saved! Just think! The 80.00 dollars you saved on school taxes last year could be doubled in the next few years!
