I have always been in favor of the sale. Even if we sold the home FOR ONE DOLLAR I suspect it would still result in a net gain. However, (unlike the other miscreants in favor of "no votes" this communique really showed me another side to the argument. Thoughtful and well written...(even though I am still in favor of the sale) well done Mr. Whitney!

If you knew Mr. Whitney, you would know that he is incapable of penning this article. His name is signed at the bottom however.

The Home loses $ 9000 a day. There are regulations and inspections that will enusre that the home, like any other facility, will care for and meet the needs of those living there. I would be willing to bet his "constituents" are his Union chums that are afraid to death that Union workers may not be hired by this - or any other private enterprise meaning less dough and perks for their top-heavy 6 figure salary "leaders"

Damage control? Who writes your press? We all know what you're about, Whitney. Elected as a special interest lobbiest you will never stray from the brotherhood of organized labor. You've been feeding at that trough for your entire career.

First Whitney and Cornell slander Mr. Rothner's character with false statements, now their excuse is that the price is too low. There are many county owned nursing homes for sale in NYS, it's a buyers market.

What an indiot Whiney is. Edwards should not have to be a CEO of home. Selling cheap? If it loses 9K a day many days need to go by to make it worth more? All your arguments are weak...and he voters see through them. You were pandering to the CSEA union and everyone knows it. Now you want thanks from the property owners of the couny who you just screwed?

I would like to know when Mr. Whitney plans on paying his property taxes which have been advertised in the paper last week. It is no wonder he doesn't care about the home losing money every day. He is not paying his share. Check it out folks.

You are correct Taxpayerfred, I checked Whitney out on the county website. He has not paid his property taxes for 2 years on two different properties and they are on the verge of tax foreclosure.

I would hope someone would question this guy about his taxes. I does not say much for a hot shot electrition and a union president to not pay his taxes. Come on Mr. Whitney, was is you excuse this time.

Perhaps several of us should attend the next legislature meeting on February 27th and question Mr. Whitney about this.

Why stop and start with one person? Put all elected officials under the same scrutiny. Let's see what values they all stand for and just keep it in mind in November. You get the government you deserve.

Total Delinquent: $6,019.44. Never trust anyone who posts informatin here. So I went to the county's real property tax services website and lo and behold! I'll bet this information was leaked out by Jim Caflisch?????

I guess if you live in Never-Never Land you can make a statement like his regarding the sale price of the home. In reality we got one offer to buy after RFPs went out and in addition every local not for profit nursing home operator knew that the county home was up for sale. So what is it worth in the real world? What Eric Rothner offered!

I would like to say to Mr. Whitney how can you tell people that you know how to run a budget for the county when you cannot even pay your own taxes in timely fashion. you need to step away from county government and go back to the private sector
