although a noble premise, the author starts out with "truth above all" is the PJ motto, the PJ had a cartoon "implying" more murders were caused by hammers than by rifles, but hammers killed 473 more people to be killed than rifles.

the rest of the article actually makes sense & appears factual. but the article that the author mentions simply compared rifles to hammers, which (as the author pointed out) is "truth."

lol sorry about the terrible sentence structure in that first paragraph. don't know how "to be killed" got in that last sentence.

"My neighbor is anti gun and therefore his house is unprotected. Out of respect for his believes I will not use my gun to protect his property." All of you anti gun folks are on your own and I hope all pro gun people are with me on this.

I now rifles, shotguns, and handguns. What's an "other" according to the FBI? Is this the Hello Kitty category? And nowhere is the stat on asault rifles (full auto) or even the look alikes the left is so upset about. These stats are worthless.

It would be so nice if we could just go back in time, before gunpowder, when murder was obviously nonexistent.

Why has America become so violent, that is the problem when talking about murder.

And where are the regulations on hammers?

The writer fails to mention 2 very important things (1) The # of lives saved because a "good guy" was carrying (2) Countries who have banned firearms dramatically watched homicides increase. Get yourself educated and do report back to us. Spinning just 1 side doesn't cut it.

I think the NRA was trying to make the point if all guns were taken away, then people would just find another means of killing people! I can understand banning a clip that holds 15 to 30 rounds. I do not think the govt. should ban shotguns that hold 5 rounds in a magazine.

Gun control isn't about guns. It's about control. I find it very odd that people who care nothing about millions of abortions, excuse tens of millions of murders by Communist regimes, and cheer on union thugs who commit murder can be so concerned about the deaths of a few more innocent children that they want to punish millions of ordinary people in the process of denying a few psychotics access to guns.

All the govt. needs to do is use some common sense, but they will go over board and ban every type of gun possible!

Political cartoons are ment for satire and are often suppose to be misleading. Since their creation they have almost exclusively been used for propaganda. In this case there was nothing false about the cartoon.

I hate to say it, but troglodyte is correct! It really is about control! These psychotic losers who use guns to kill innocent people will just buy a gun illegally or use some other method to fulfill there agenda.

If the Newtown shooter had been armed with a hammer instead of a gun, do you think the death toll would have been so high?

boy look at the mass shootings at all these amish schools....

these amish kids are terrible! from a very early age they learn a horrible, lazy work ethic. their communities are rife with violent video games & movies/television. their children never haves access to firearms. & worst of all, they're a Godless society with zero mention of any higher power in school &/or in their personal lives.
