well sorry to say i voted for him, wont make that mistake again, you could see by his high energy ramblings today, that he is already campaigning for the 2016 presidential elections,he should have done his homework though as you can only buy a rifle in nys with a maximum of ten round clip already, last i heard he wasn't married so if the taxpayers are feeding his girlfriend and putting a roof over her head that may be illegal, sounds like he wants everyone to sit around smoking weed so we dont know whats going on in albany

I heard Cuomo's rant about gun control during his state of the state address. He really sounded like the true left-wing radical we all know he is and that he tries to hide. Listen to it. It's people like him who are scary.

This state needs to take a look at the judicial system. For example, a guy in Webster, NY, kills fireman responding to a fire he set. This guy should never have been let out of prison. He killed his 92 year old grandmother with a hammer. Who does this kind of thing? Then he convinces someone to buy him some guns.(notice, they were not legally purchased by him). Just guessing by looking at the guy, but illegal drug use was most likely a big part of his life. So he's a crazed murderer, set free by society, to do drugs and kill again! And, Cuomo is worried about legal gun owners, who have already passed this states background checks-some of the toughest in the nation.

Spend on this, spend on affordable housing...not one mention of getting bums off of welfare and making this state great again...

"Cuomo would also require follow-ups for owners of handgun licenses (pistol permits) to make sure they still qualified to possess a gun...." Well, they actually do that now to some extent. If you go to add or remove a gun from your permit, and you haven't done so in the last five years, they have to run the FEDERAL NICS check on you before you can get whatever you want, done. With computerized lists it wouldn't be any big thing to simply have the county Pistol Dept staff run the names and data through the NICS check every so often on a rotating basis. I have an idea though that Cuomo doesn't intend to be that practical or ECONOMICAL. You can bet that a bunch of paperwork will be required, and let's not forget....the BIG FEE.

Contrived bluster for the liberal sponges to soak up. Another politician who won a primary because of his name and elected because of a "D" by his name. NY State will never recover its greatness until they stop electing Democrats or until we get A different kind of Democrat running for office.

Hi cap mags are not available in NY and most companies wont ship them to NY. DUH UMMMM what ever happened to the big Sanitariums??? Warren State hospital didnt get as big as it is from the being a lack of people not right in the head. Look at the real problem, in old days if a child wasnt right they institutionalized them now they try to overlook it and say "NOT MY KID" yes your kid. Quit trying to collect social security for them raise them yourself. PUT THEM WHERE THEY BELONG.

Cuomo and Barry, you need to take a good look at the US Constitution. The Liberals, under Barry's shifty eyes, want to take the US to 1938. I have news for them, they might end up taking us back to 1776 Part II...and it's not going to be pretty.

Deinstitutionalization from the "big box" state mental institutions (ie. Gowanda) began during the Kennedy era with the 1963 "Community Mental Health Act (CMHA)", which came about as a result of the 1955 "Mental Health Act Study". The CMHA provided federal grants to the states to close many of the "big box" institutions and replace them with community based facilities (ie. group homes, out patient clinics ect). The states jumped at the opportunity to close the hugely expensive institutions, but many of them failed to spend the money to completely replace them with community based facilities. Add to that civil rights type court rulings which declared that people could not be institutionalized, or otherwise treated, against their will, without "due process". It's sounds harsh to say it, but all of that has led to having an increase in the # of "time bombs" walking among us.
