Muckdogs Make Short Work Of Jammers
BATAVIA —The Jamestown Jammers suffered their worse loss of the New York-Penn League season on Friday night at Dwyer Stadium. Four Batavia pitchers held the Jammers (5-10) to just four hits and only once did they get a runner as far as third base in a 12-0 victory for the Muckdogs’ third straight win over the Jammers. In the three games, Batavia has outscored the Jammers by a decisive 27-4 margin and it’s the second time they have given up 12 runs as Mahoning Valley recorded a 12-2 verdict on June 20. Scott Schneider, winner Eric Fornataro, Santo Maetz and LaCurtis Mayes combined for the nine strikeout shutout and didn’t allow a hit after Erik Kanaby singled with one out in the fifth inning. Batavia got all it needed with a two-run first against Dan Mahoney (0-3) as Devin Goodwin singled and Xavier Scruggs hit a two-run home run to left field. Jamestown had its only real threat in the second when Richard Orton and Sequoyah Stonecipher singled with nobody out.
