To save time and money for his customers, Ryan Patti, R.Patti Concrete & Excavating owner, has invested in new, innovative curb-cutting machinery. The new equipment is a concrete curb cutter which has the capabilities of precise cutting of concrete to saw manhole basins, wall holes, core drilling and specific curb cutting. Patti said he is one of the first construction companies in the area to own a concrete curb cutter. ‘‘I used to have to rent one from a guy out of the area. Then I would usually have to wait for it because others were renting it,’’ Patti said. ‘‘I’m the only one in a 200-mile radius that owns one. I though it would be a quality purchase and a good time to do it to create more work.’’ The $100,000 piece of machinery will increase Patti’s workload because he will be able to do more jobs with the time his company saves in doing concrete jobs. Patti said to do the old ‘‘shovel and bucket method’’ of concrete work would cost customers about $30 a foot on a jo.
