| | Smaller MacBook Pro RetinaOctober 24, 2012 - Dave Hecei During a press event today, October 23rd, Apple announced an all new MacBook Pro 13-inch laptop with Retina display. Apple recently updated the 15-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display and this 13-inch model now joins it. The 13-inch Retina is 20 percent thinner than the standard 13-inch model. This is made possible by a combination of new battery array, no optical drive, soldered RAM, and an SSD type storage drive. On the left side there is a MagSafe power port, two Thunderbolt ports, a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack, and two built-in microphones. On the right there is another USB 3.0 port, an HDMI video out, and an SD memory card slot. Being so thin, of course the 13-inch Retina is lighter. It weighs only 3.57 pounds. Inside the 13-inch Retina has the new Intel Ivy Bridge chipset - Intel dual-core i5 or i7 Ivy Bridge, Intel HD Graphics 4000, up to 8GB of RAM, up to 768GB of flash, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, up to 7 hours battery life. Pricing starts at $1699. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
