Frederick E. Puleo, 88, of Jamestown passed away Friday, April 5, 2019, in his home.
He was born Jan. 1, 1931 in Spangler, Pa, the son of the late Dominick and Jesse Keith Puleo.
Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
He was employed by the Teamsters Local 264 for 32 years. Prior to retirement he was employed by WCA Hospital.
Fred was a member of the Teamsters Retirees, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the Herman Kent Post 777, American Legion in Celoron. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fred also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, bowling and was an avid Cleveland Browns and NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed spending winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where he made many new friends including Dean and Sue Yaddow, and Mary Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty J. Burkey Puleo whom he married July 14, 1951; four children, Frederick E. (Linda) Puleo Jr. of Bemus Point, Jeffrey J. (Jennifer) Puleo of Lakewood, Steven F. (Carol) Puleo of Busti, Cristine (Michael) Capozzi of Olean; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tom) Fred, Adam (Samantha) Puleo, Markus Puleo; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Fred, Colton Fred, Avery Puleo, Abel Puleo and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. John LaMancuso and family.
A private graveside service will be held in Fluvanna Cemetery. Rev. Joe Pascoe pastor of Park United Methodist Church will officiate.
Visitation will not be observed.
