Fire departments on Friday battled a car fire near the Dunkirk-Fredonia exit of the New York state Thruway on Friday night. The call came in before 7 and crews were on the scene for more than an hour. The vehicle was headed in the westbound direction. Fredonia Fire Department was one of the crews handling the incident.
