A garage fire at 63 W. 14th St., which officials believe was intentionally set, caused damage Friday in the city of Jamestown.

Firefighters were dispatched to the area of West Fourteenth and Washington streets around 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they found smoke pushing from eaves of single story two-car garage and encountered heavy smoke, but very little fire.

Overhead doors were opened to ventilate and an item of funiture was found burned inside with fire, heat, and smoke damage throughout. Minor fire damage on outside and the incident was stabilized within 10 minutes.

The incident remains under investigation and the scene was cleared within 75 minutes.
